Shilajit Resin and Capsules: Practical Differences

Shilajit supplements are commonly sold as resin or capsules. The main differences are serving consistency, handling and the amount of product information available on the label.

Serving consistency

Resin products are often measured with a spoon or by an estimated portion. Capsule products usually state a fixed amount per serving. Whichever format you choose, use the serving directions supplied by the manufacturer rather than estimating the amount.

Purification and testing

Shilajit is a mineral-rich material that requires appropriate purification. Review the product information for a clear ingredient identity, a stated amount per serving and testing for contaminants such as lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury. A general “tested” statement is less useful than a current certificate or clearly described testing program.

Convenience

Resin must be measured and mixed, while capsules are pre-portioned and easier to travel with. Resin may suit customers who prefer the traditional format. Capsules may suit customers who prioritize a repeatable serving and simple storage.
