Cellular-energy supplements can contain very different ingredients and serving sizes. Comparing the Supplement Facts panel is more useful than comparing category names or prices alone.
Start with the serving size
Check whether the amounts are listed per capsule, tablet or multi-capsule serving. A larger number on the front label may describe the full serving rather than one capsule.
Review the lead ingredient
Alpha-ketoglutarate (AKG) is used in some cellular-energy formulas. Labels may identify the source, purity and amount. Record those details before comparing two products.
Check the supporting ingredients
Some formulas combine AKG with ingredients such as astragalus, spermidine, L-theanine or botanical extracts. Review every amount and consider whether the formula overlaps with products you already use.
Look for clear product information
- A stated amount for each ingredient
- A clearly defined serving size
- Manufacturing and testing information
- Suggested use and caution statements
- No claims to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease
